Printing and Photocopying Services

Fiji School of Medicine Library provides printing and photocopying facilities in both Hoodless House and Tamavua Campus Libraries.

Services include:

. A printer in each of the Resource Rooms
. Two photocopy machines in Hoodless House Library and one in Tamavua Campus Library

How do I print?

To use the printers in the Resource Rooms:

. Purchase a ream of A4 photocopy paper from the Book Store at Hoodless House or the Administration Office at Tamavua campus for use in the printers
. Place your paper in the printer paper tray and then select the print option on your workstation

How do I photocopy?

To use the photocopiers:

. Purchase a rechargeable photocopy card from the Library Loans desk for $7.00 ($5.00 for the card and $2.00 for photocopies). Photocopies cost 5c per A4 page and Loans Desk staff can add more money to your card when you require it.
. Insert the card into the card reader beside the photocopy machine before copying. The amount of money available on the card will be displayed. As photocopies are made the programmed price will be debited from the amount available.

What about copyright?

Please note that copying must not infringe provisions of the Fiji Copyright Act 1999. The relevant restrictions are displayed prominently beside each copying and printing machine.

A copyright owner is entitled to take legal action against a person who infringes his copyright. Unless otherwise permitted by the Fiji Copyright Act 1999, unauthorized copying of a work in which copyright subsists may infringe the copyright in that work. Where making a copy of a work is a fair dealing under Section 44 of the Fiji Copyright Act 1999, making that copy is not an infringement of the copyright in the work. It is fair dealing to make a copy, for the purposes of research or study, of one or more articles on the same subject matter in a journal publication, or, in the case of any other work, of a reasonable portion of a work. In the case of a published work that is less than 10 pages and is not an artistic work, 10% of the total number of pages, or one chapter, is a reasonable portion.
